BRUGG eConnect in magazine electricar: e-fuelling as fast as normal refuelling

Refuelling vehicles with petrol engines is quick and easy. In contrast, drivers of environmentally friendly electric vehicles have had to be patient until now. Even with conventional fast-charging infrastructures, it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to sufficiently charge the battery. But these waiting times are soon to be a thing of the past.

The new product from BRUGG eConnect makes it possible to fast-charge electric vehicles to an extent never before achieved. The Megawatt Charging System (MCS) Level 3 could theoretically charge an electric vehicle with 3000 A in less than a minute. Provided that the battery can absorb such power. This is not yet possible with today’s electric vehicles.

The MCS technology practically closes the gap to fossil fuel refuelling. The extremely short charging time significantly improves the economic efficiency, especially for large trucks. The technology is expected to drive electrification and decarbonisation, free the business sector from the disadvantages of e-mobility and reduce noise emissions at construction sites.

BRUGG eConnect is a specialist in innovative cable and connector connections and has already launched the first HPC connector with the highest IP69 safety rating in the past. This connector is extremely robust, waterproof and dustproof. It can even withstand a truck driving over it. In this way, the plug ensures that charging stations do not fail.
